The State Council approved the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (Beijing 2022), according to a circular issued on Dec 28.

Committee members include Guo Jinlong, secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee; Liu Peng, minister of the General Administration of Sport of China and president of the Chinese Olympic Committee; Wang Anshun, mayor of Beijing; Zhang Qingwei, governor of Hebei province; and Zhang Haidi, chairperson of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation.

Beijing won the bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics on July 31, 2015, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
