Economic & security cooperation on agenda of SCO PM level meeting

The 14th prime ministers’ meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization opened in Zhengzhou in Central China’s Henan province on Dec 14.

The two-day meeting is focusing on the implementation of goals made at the SCO summit.

Heads of government from China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are expected to discuss cooperation in trade and other sectors.

China also was expected to reiterate its support for regional cooperation, including through the Belt and Road initiative.

Talks will also focus on combating terrorism to safeguard regional stability. The leaders were also expected to discuss how to prevent the penetration of terrorist forces and how to better coordinate information and exchanges.
