Great Wall-themed flower terrace at Tiananmen Square

Just over a week ahead of the Sept 3 military parade to mark the 70th anniversary of China’s victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Beijing’s Tiananmen Square and Chang’an Street are looking resplendent, with magnificent floral arrangements.

A Great Wall-themed flower terrace has been assembled in Tiananmen Square, and there are other eight additional flower beds located separately in Dongdan — to the east of Tiananmen — and Xidan to the west.

Designers of the floral displays said that 3D printing technology was used to build preparatory models of the creations.

Chang’an Street, one of the major roads linking China’s capital city from east to the west, is where the military parade will take place.
