Look at how some pandas in Southwest China’s Sichuan province are taking shelter from the sweltering heat. These one-year-old panda cubs have cozy dormitories in this so-called “panda kindergarten”.
The kindergarten comes with air conditioning and heat-protective glass to shield the babies from the boiling sun. The protection is needed because outside temperatures have hit 30 to 40 degrees Celsius in some places.
The pandas have dense fur and the steamy weather can be difficult for them. These cubs are enjoying their first summer since they were born and to prevent heatstroke, they are even given icy treats.
