Chinese documentary profiles art maestros

‘Masters of the Century,’ a hundred-episode documentary, is now being broadcast on more than 20 TV stations in China and has been well-received. It’s divided into several volumes including painting, calligraphy ... and the filming for the drama part began on June 9.

Masters of the Century, a hundred-episode documentary, covers 42 grand masters in different areas of Chinese arts and literature in the 20th century. It’s divided into several volumes including painting, calligraphy, literature, Peking opera, drama, and music. The drama part includes four maestros — Tian Han, Jin Shan, OuYang Yuqian and Jiao Juyin.

“Masters of the Century” is being broadcast on CCTV, Beijing TV and 20 other TV stations. The drama part will be finished by the end of 2016.
