China’s Foreign Ministry said on March 30 that China’s naval fleet has already evacuated 122 of its nationals from Yemen to Djibouti as the security there continues to get worse.

Chinese ambassador to Yemen still remained at his post to help the rest of 400 to go. China’s Navy fleet, which had been carrying out escort missions in the Gulf of Aden and Somali waters, was dispatched for the evacuation on March 29.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying repeated a call for a political resolution to the Yemen crisis.

“We are following the development of the situation in Yemen. We have also paid attention to the Arab League Summit you just mentioned. Our stance remains the same. We hope relevant parties can resolve the Yemen crisis through political means as soon as possible. We want to once again call on the various parties in Yemen to effectively implement relevant UN resolutions, and proposals by the Gulf Cooperation Council, and restore stability and normal and legal order in Yemen,” she said.
