State Councilor Yang Jiechi has met with Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh on issues in regional cooperation and maritime disputes.

Yang said the China-Vietnam relationship is at a crucial stage of development. He called on both sides to enhance political trust and conduct exchanges in infrastructure, agriculture, education and culture to increase understanding between the two peoples. Yang also said the two countries should handle differences on maritime issues through dialogue.
