China sends 234m yuan in aid to West Africa

The number of Ebola cases continues to rise in West Africa. And Chinese aid to the region continues to flow in. The Ministry of Commerce said on Oct 16 that Chinese aid had so far totalled 234 million yuan. Spokesman Shen Danyang said on Oct 16 that this included medicines and medical equipment, food and cash that had been despatched to the region in three batches.

Meanwhile, there are nearly 200 Chinese aid workers that have arrived in West Africa to offer medical services in mobile labs. The spokesman also said that China will offer further help according to the spread of the epidemic and to meet the emergency needs of the affected countries.
