Confucius Institutes around the world are holding events to celebrate Confucius Institute Day as well as the 10th anniversary of the institute.

The institute’s world headquarters in Beijing is holding an open day for the public to let ordinary people get an experience of daily teaching at the institute.

Other activities consist of sessions focused on Chinese culture as well as exhibitions of Chinese painting, music and martial arts. Nearly 1,200 Confucius Institutes have been established in over 120 countries since 2004.

The institutes aim at teaching the Chinese language and introducing Chinese culture abroad.
