BEIJING — The State Council, China’s cabinet, announced the appointment and removal of several officials on May 14.

Wang Xi was appointed vice-minister of Science and Technology.

Wang Aiwen was appointed vice-minister of Civil Affairs.

Han Zirong was named full-time vice-president of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Zhang Jianguo was removed from the posts of vice-minister of Science and Technology and head of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs.
