Boy resettled after shantytown renovation in Baotou city

In February 2013, a boy became famous after he was caught hiding in his family’s wardrobe with no pants on during a surprise visit by Li Keqiang, then vice-premier, to his home in Baotou city, Inner Mongolia.

Three years later, the boy named Gao Yubo and his family are now resettled thanks to renovations in Beiliang shantytowns in Baotou city.

The boy’s grandfather said that the new house has a living room, bedroom and kitchen, and the family is enjoying the improvement in their condition.

By the end of last year, 33, 000 units were completed for residents the Beiliang shantytowns.
