China, Uzbekistan officials talk security cooperation

Senior security official Meng Jianzhu met with Uzbekistan Minister of Internal Affairs Akhmedbaev Adkham in Beijing on Sept 15, vowing to promote closer security cooperation between both countries.

Meng, head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said law enforcement departments of the two countries should strengthen substantial cooperation in combating cross-border crime, drug crime, and “the three forces of terrorism, extremism and separatism.”

Akhmedbaev said his country hopes to facilitate healthy and stable growth of security and law enforcement cooperation with China.

State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun also held talks with Akhmedbaev earlier on Sept 15.
