Chinese patients able to rate tertiary hospitals

BEIJING — Patients in China will be able to rate their satisfaction with their experiences while seeing doctors at tertiary hospitals, according to the National Health Commission.

Tertiary hospitals across the country will be incorporated into the satisfaction monitoring network set up by the commission by the end of March, Zhang Zongjiu, an official with the commission, said on Jan 30.

Patients can log on to the platform by scanning the hospitals’ QR codes with their cell phones and answer questions about how satisfied they are.

China has a three-tier system to grade hospitals, with tertiary hospitals — which have the largest number of beds and provide comprehensive medical services — at the top of the list.
