The Zhangjiakou-Tangshan railway is nearing completion and will be put into use by the end of this year.

As a double-track, heavy-haul railway with a designed speed of 120 km per hour, it runs 525 kilometers from Kongjiazhuang station in Zhangjiakou city to Caofeidian port in Tangshan city.

Along with the Datong-Qinhuangdao railway and Shenchi-Huanghua railway, it serves as a major energy line that transports coal.

This railway is the first-stage project of a railway that connects Ordos and Tangshan, and will be able to transport 200 million tons of cargo each year.

Passenger trains can also run on this railway.
