Police chief holds talks with Nepali Deputy PM

BEIJING -- State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun held talks with Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam in Beijing on Oct 16, and they pledged to boost security cooperation between the two countries.

Hailing the traditional friendship between the two countries and the smooth cooperation between the ministries, Guo said he hopes the two sides will increase personnel interactions, improve mechanisms of cooperation, and boost practical cooperation on Tibet-related affairs, fight against illegal border crossing and drug trafficking to safeguard security and stability of the two countries as well as the region at large to provide a favorable environment for common development.

Gautam said the Nepali government attaches great importance to the friendship and cooperation with China and stands ready to continue deepening law-enforcement cooperation with the Chinese side.
