China, Germany to further strengthen dialogue, consultation on macroeconomic policies

BERLIN — China and Germany are to further strengthen dialogue and consultation on macroeconomic policies between the two countries, delegates of both sides said after the 20th Economic Policy Consultation.

At the invitation of German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Ning Jizhe, deputy head of the National Development and Reform Commission, visited Germany with a Chinese delegation between Sept 23 and Sept 26.

During his visit, Ning hosted together with Ulrich Nussbaum, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the 20th Economic Policy Consultation.

The two sides exchanged views on the macroeconomic situation and policy orientation of the two countries, the impact of trade frictions, the WTO reform, the policy measures of structural reforms, and the third-party market cooperation.

In addition, the Chinese delegation also visited the headquarters of Siemens and the regional headquarters of COSCO Shipping in Europe for a better understanding of market development among Chinese and German companies.
