YEREVANA — A ceremony was held in Yerevan on April 5, hailing 25 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and the People’s Republic of China.

“The past 25 years have been a period of continuously strengthened political mutual trust between China and Armenia,” said Chinese Ambassador Tian Erlong in his opening remarks.

“Twenty-five years later, we are now opening a new page in the relations of our countries,” said Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

Diplomatic relations between Armenia and China were established on April 6 of 1992, after the South Caucasus republic gained independence in September of 1991 amid the collapse of the Soviet Union.
