Candles and incense are placed on the dragon, made of banyan branches (body), leaves (scales) and hemp cord (sinew), to pray for good luck in Jiangcun, a village in Guangzhou in South China’s Guangdong province, during the Mid-Autumn Festival. The dragon dance performance has been a longstanding festival celebration in Guangdong province.

Dragons made by different communities are ready for the performance. It is believed that the longer the dragon, the more luck it will bring to the community.
