China's State Council (cabinet) appointed four senior officials on Wednesday.

Chen Xiaohua was appointed as Vice Minister of Agriculture, Li Congjun as president of the Xinhua News Agency, Wang Xudong as president of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) and Zhang Jun as permanent representative of China to the Organization For the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).

The cabinet ended Wang Xudong's post as Vice Minister of Industry and Information, Yin Chengjie's post as Vice Minister of Agriculture, Tian Congming's post as president of Xinhua, You Quan's post as president of SERC and Xue Hanqin's post as permanent representative of China to the OPCW.
