A foundation-laying ceremony was held in Luada on Thursday marking the start of construction of the Angolan national TV station's production center, to be built by the China National Electronics Import & Export corp.
The TV production center project is part of a broader government program to modernize the country's TV production and infrastructure, said Angola's Information Minister Manuel Rabelais at the ceremony.
The project will help make the country's TV production a leader in Africa, he said.
National TV station chairman Carlos Cuhna expressed satisfaction with the high-quality construction team from China.
The TV production center, which was also designed by Chinese engineers, will cover 14,051 square meters and is to include two studios, an office building, and electricity supplying facilities.
