Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping Friday urged further strengthening Party building in new social organizations by expanding the coverage of Party organizations and their work.

Xi, also a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks when inspecting the study and practice of the Scientific Outlook on Development in new social organizations in Beijing Friday.

Statistics show that China has more than 400,000 registered social groups, foundations and private non-business entities.

"Social organizations have made important contributions to boosting domestic economy, providing public service, reflecting people's demand, maintaining social stability and promoting ethical progress," Xi said.

Xi also called on various social organizations to further study and practice the Scientific Outlook on Development, which emphasizes the well-being of people and comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development.
