Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), left Beijing Thursday for official visits to the Philippines, Peru, Ecuador and Brazil.
Jia will also attend the opening ceremony of the 10th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (WCEC) on Nov. 20 in Manila, the Philippines, a biennial gathering of worldwide Chinese entrepreneurs since 1991.
Jia made the trips at the invitations of Juan Ponce Enrile, president of the Philippines Senate, the government of Peru, Fernando Cordero, president of the National Congress of Ecuador, and Jose Sarney, president of the Federal Senate of the Brazilian National Congress.
