Senior Chinese official Zhou Yongkang Tuesday pledged to promote friendly relations with Kenya.
Zhou, a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau, made the remarks when meeting with Musalia Mudavadi, a senior leader of Kenya's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
Hailing the stable and healthy development of China-Kenya relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1963, Zhou said the two nations made fruitful cooperation in various fields.
Zhou applauded Kenya's support to China on many important issues, hoping that the two nations would enhance cooperation in agriculture and other sectors.
Zhou said the CPC valued the ties with the ODM, and was ready to increase exchanges and cooperation between the two parties.
Mudavadi, also Kenya's deputy prime minister, said his country would work with China to increase agricultural cooperation, especially in the area of rice planting technology.
He hoped the two peoples would also increase exchanges through establishing friendship cities.
The ODM would strengthen exchanges with the CPC, Mudavadi said.
Mudavadi was here on a visit from Oct. 14 to 21.
