Hailing the progress of bilateral ties since the diplomatic ties forged 58 years ago, Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC),a political advisory body, said the two countries had set up strategic cooperative partnership featuring equality, friendship, trust and mutual benefit.

He appreciated Pakistan's firm support for China on the Taiwan, Tibet and other issues, and its fight against the terrorist forces of "East Turkestan."

Naek reiterated his country's adherence to the one-China policy, adding Pakistan resolutely opposed to terrorism in any form, and was ready to cooperate with China to safeguard regional peace and stability.

Naek, who is in China for eight days, said his country was grateful for China's assistance over the years, and was ready to work to further explore cooperation and consolidate bilateral ties.

It is Naek's first trip to China since assuming the post in March this year.
