National Democratic Construction Association convenes national congress

China National Democratic Construction Association (CNDCA), one of the country's eight non-communist parties, opened its 9th national congress in Beijing on Sunday.

The delegates will hear and deliberate a report of the party's 8th central committee, adopt the revised party constitution and elect its 9th central committee.

Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau, met with all the delegates and delivered a congratulatory message on behalf of the CPC Central Committee.

The China National Democratic Construction Association was founded by a number of patriotic industrialists and business people, as well as some intellectuals in Chongqing on Dec. 16, 1945.

The members of the association are mainly business people.

The CNDCA has branches in 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government, with more than 108,000 members nationwide.

Zhou Tienong was elected chairman of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK), one of China's eight non-communist parties.

The RCCK concluded its weeklong 11th national congress in Beijing on Saturday, announcing the congress had elected its 11th RCCK Central Committee of 209 members. Full story
