1st China-Japan Forum on Environmental Protection and Energy Saving held in Tokyo

The First China-Japan Forum on Environmental Protection and Energy Saving was recently held in Tokyo. Bo Xilai, Chinese Minister of Commerce, Wang Yi, Chinese Ambassador to Japan, Jiang Weixin, Vice Minister of the National Development and Reform Commission, Toshihiro Nikai, Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and Yuriko Koike, Japanese Minister of Environment attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Both sides expressed the hope that the two countries will carry out cooperation in energy-saving and environmental protection. Chen Jiachang, Director of Energy and Transportation under the Department of High and New Technology Development and Industrialization of the Ministry of Science and Technology attended the conference and delivered a speech titled "Development and Prospect of China's Energy-saving and Clean Energy Technology".

At the opening ceremony, relevant institutions of the two countries also signed a number of cooperation agreements on carrying out dialogues on energy-saving and cultivating energy-saving and environmental protection talents. Both sides agreed to hold regular official and non-governmental dialogues and exchanges on energy-saving and environmental protection in the future.
