China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), the nation's biggest contractor in the overseas construction market, is scheduled to obtain 3 billion US dollars from the China Export-Import Bank in the coming five years to expand its overseas market.
CSCEC and the China Export-Import Bank (China Eximbank), a key investor in overseas projects, signed the cooperation agreement Wednesday.
According to the agreement, in the next five years, China Eximbank will provide funds for CSCEC's off shore construction contracts, the export of mechanical and electronic products and a complete set of equipment and resources exploitation.
As an important force in the backup system of foreign trade and economy, China Eximbank will fully support Chinese companies with comparative advantages to "go global" through offshore construction contracts and overseas investment projects, said bank governor Li Ruogu at the signing ceremony.
Sun Wenjie, general manager of CSCEC, said the long-term and stable capital sources from China Eximbank will play a significant role in promoting the company's operation and social prestige.
CSCEC, one of China's four major construction companies, enjoyed a total contract volume of 31.5 billion US dollars and has ranked first for 20 consecutive years among the Chinese firms on the list of the world's 225 biggest international contractors on the US ENR magazine.
