The major duties are:

To examine the problems of provincial administrative organs in observing and enforcing laws, rules, regulations and the people's government's decisions and orders; to accept and hear the cases of accusing and informing against provincial administrative organs, civil servants and other personnel appointed by provincial administrative organs over the violation of administrative discipline; to investigate and deal with the act of violating administrative discipline on the part of provincial administration organs, civil servants and other personnel appointed by provincial administrative organs; to accept and hear the appeals made by civil servants and other personnel appointed by state administrative organs against the administrative sanctions imposed by the competent authorities, and other appeals to be accepted and heard by the supervisory organization as provided by laws and administrative rules and regulations; to do a good job of propaganda of rules, policies and laws of supervision and other rules and regulations and laws, jointly with the related departments; to investigate the formulation of policies, rules and regulations of the all the administrative departments of the provincial and municipal government, and to revise the articles which are against the policies and laws and harmful to the state interests and add some suggestions; to change or cancel the improper rules and regulations.
