Liaoning has abundant resources of cultural and historical interest.Now Liaoning has become an important traveling destination in northeast Asia.

In 2004, Liaoning was host to 81275,000 overseas and domestic visitors. The total tourist income was 57 billion Yuan RMB, rising to the 7th place of the country or 28.1 percent higher than the previous year.

Red Traveling Resources

The Liao-Shen Campaign Museum,Leifeng Museum,the 18th September History Museum,Korea War Museum, Yalu River Bridge being representative among hundred red tourist spots across the country, red travel products of six lines including the period of the War of Resistance Against Japan,China's War of Libreatin, the War to Resist U.S.Aggression and Aid Korea are distributed all over the province.As a result,four red tourism region,three red travel routes and sixteen red fine tour products has been formed.

In the middle and west of Liaoning,there are historical sites of pre-Qing Dynasty and Manchu folk costumes such as "one palace,four Mausoleums,five old towns,one lines and one museum",they are:Yongling Mausoleum in Xinbin County which is the first Manchu autonomous county in China, Fei'ala town,Hetu'ala Town,Jiefan Town in Fushun,Saerhu Town, Shenyang Palace Museum, the Fuling and Zhaoling Mausoleums,Dongjing Town and Dongjing Mausoleum in Liaoyang;eastern inspection line of the emperors of Qing Dynasty,where four Emperors Kangxi,Qianlong,Jiaqing,Daoguang had offered sacrifices to their ancesters altogether ten times successively(to "one palace and three mausoleums),and thus formed a characteristic traveling brand which works in cncert with southern inspection line;Fushun Exhibition Hall of War Criminals Prison,being the birth place of Qing Dynasty,FuShun laid a foundationi of nearly three hundred years for Qing Dynasty,it's a historical coincidence that the city is not only birthplace but also terminal of Qing Dynasty,since the last emperor of Qing Dynasy Puyi had been made a citizen out of emperor.

Various tourist service organizations in Liaoning provide considerate services to both domestic and overseas tourists of different levels and with different demands. There are more than 200 three-star or better hotels. Tourist Transportations

Liaoning has quite developed tourist transport facilities. There are five civil airports, through which people can travel to major cities in China and to other countries and regions including Japan, Russia, Republic of Korea, the USA, Germany, Australia, Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong. Maritime navigation lines have been set up between the province and more than 140 countries and regions through five seaports. The 14 cities directly under the provincial government have all been connected by expressways and railroads. In average, it takes less than five hours to reach Beijing from Shenyang via the expressway or Qinhuangdao-Shenyang Railway. Several roads, railways and special flight lines have been opened up to facilitate tourist activities.
