He successively served as Deputy Director and Director of Planning Division of PBOC Guangdong Branch, President of PBOC Shaoguan Sub-branch and Administrator of SAFE Shaoguan Sub-branch, Vice President of PBOC Guangdong Branch and Deputy Administrator of SAFE Guangdong Branch, Vice President of PBOC Guangzhou Branch and Deputy Administrator of SAFE Guangdong Branch. In March 2002, he was appointed as Deputy Administrator of the State administration of Foreign Exchange.
